Find your dream destination – and win flights there!

New year, new tricks and new travel plans! Even if I haven’t been able to carry out all of my existing travel plans yet, but you need to have goals in your life, right!? I should learn to prioritize, among other things, also my travel plans. So many ideas and dream destinations, but sometimes it’s just too difficult to decide where to start. Sounds familiar?

Well, the solution to this problem was found very easily once travel search site momondo contacted me informing about a contest where you can find your dream travel destination and win free flights there. Dreamer as I am, this contest is like it’s made for me!

What comes to you, my friend, as a reader, the best news is yet to come: the contest is not only for bloggers, but also for readers! To participate, you only need to try momondo’s Trip Finder and comment on this blog post one destination that the Trip Finder suggests.

Remember to leave your comment by Saturday the 31st of January and you will be one step closer to your dream holiday! You can find the detailed information about the competition here.

We actually found the Trip Finder to be quite an interesting tool, as there are so many dream destinations all over the world. How to pick only one? So, with my boyfriend Daniel, we sat down and started to think about the perfect destination for us.

We started by entering the amount of travelers and our maximum budget. Then we choose a beach holiday in Asia, as we love beaches and neither of us has ever been anywhere in Asia. And as my most active followers might remember, visiting all the continents is number 3 on my bucket list.

The Trip Finder found so many interesting suggestions matching our quite small budget, but one of them beat all the others: The Maldives! Palm trees, blazing sun, golden sand beaches and turquoise sea water aren’t the only reasons for The Maldives being the perfect destination: I have read that the whole island nation’s existence is in danger.

Today, 80 % of The Maldives is less than one meter above sea level, and according to IPCC forecasts it might take less than 100 years for The Maldives to become completely uninhabitable due to the rising sea water level. The fact that I would have the possibility to travel to a place that might not exist in 100 years makes The Maldives an even more intriguing destination. On the other hand, even a thought about an entire island nation disappearing completely is incredibly sad.

Only time will tell what happens to the Maldives, but Trip Finder did what it promised and found us another dream destination to add on our list. What really surprised me was the price of flights, as I didn’t even think the Maldives would be possible with our low travel budget!

About your dream holiday, don’t forget to try momondo’s Trip Finder and leave your comment to this blog post. All you need to do is name one destination of the Trip Finder’s suggestions by the 31st of January, and you are indeed one step closer to your dream holiday.

Good luck to the competition and awesome travels for 2015!

Please note that in case of winning, I will need your full name and email address. In case you don’t want to leave you email address on a public comment, you can send it to me by email to livenowdreamlater@gmail.com. The information will be handled confidentially and will not be forwarded.

    1. The Maldives really sounds like paradise islands, these kind of pictures with sand beaches and palm trees always make me feel like going somewhere warm immediately, especially when I look out of the window and see this gray, windy and miserable weather, rain melting all the snow in January already…

      1. Haha, Finnish summer is! 🙂 Last year it was snowing still in mid June! But after that started the hottest summer in years. Hoping for a hot summer as I missed the Finnish summer in 2014 being in rainy Düsseldorf, but it’s still far far away… At the moment I just wish to have more snow instead of rain. Anyway, you too have a great weekend, Lia!

    1. Thanks for your comment, Jenna, and I’m glad to hear you found the post useful! 🙂 Iceland is still on my travel list as well, never been there but it would be such an amazing destination. Good luck, who knows, maybe you just earned your tickets to Reykjavik! 😉

  3. Looking for holidays & city breaks is one of my favourite pass times so I love Trip Finder!(http://www.momondo.fi/trip-finder/)
My dream holiday result was New York City!
I searched for March but I’m not 100% as think Nov/Dec would be pretty magically – although I’m not sure I’d like sight seeing in a City in the snow!
The website gives lots of great ideas and suggestions, which is really helpful as I’ve not been to NYC before.
Also I like how it suggests other destination that people who like New York also fly to….
This is especially helpful as when I do long haul I think it’s good to see more than one place.
So in the future when I hopefully get to go to New York I think I would like to see Washington too.

    1. Thanks for your comment. I’m very happy to hear you found the Trip Finder and this post useful. And don’t be scared of snow, even if I commented earlier about gray, boring and rainy weather in Finland, now we have snow again and -15 degrees. Snow makes everything so bright and beautiful, so winter is not necessarily bad time to visit NYC either! 😉 Good luck to the competition. And thanks for your email, I received your contact details!

  5. Lisbon, as ever in the last 10 years. Everything else since 2005 may be an interesting novelty (and it has been: Malaysia, Thailand, Austria, Bavaria, the Philippines, China), but Lisbon and myself is an old and comfortable love affair. 😀

  7. Well for me the answer is easy Argentina i.e. Buenos Aire, nature, history, passion, football, tango, wine, stakes… What more would one want?

    1. Luckily there are many ways of travelling with fairly low budget nowadays, if you don’t require to stay in luxury hotels and fly in business class! 🙂
