Weekend at Lake Constance – Stein am Rhein
The plan for Saturday was first to walk along the beach to Stein am Rhein, another little village within a 20 minute walk from Eschenz. After exploring Stein am Rhein we would continue by train to Schaffhausen and onwards to Neuhausen am Rheinfall to admire the biggest waterfall in Europe.
If there was a survey listing the locales with the least stressed inhabitants, I bet Eschenz would be one of the top ones. On the other hand I don’t believe Stein am Rhein, a village of 3 500 people, would be very far behind.
If there only was one more day in the weekend, we would definitely have hiked to the Hohenklingen Castle that you can see in the picture on top of the hill. Unfortunately we just didn’t have enough time for it.
I wonder if you get the same feeling in every single Swiss village, that you had travelled back in time?
