Everything looks better, brighter and more beautiful when standing on the top of a mountain, right?
As I haven’t been having weekly flashbacks for a while, let’s have a little look back in 2011, when I was living on the Costa del Sol in Spain. Costa del Sol… it really sounds like a swear word for modern and independent traveller, doesn’t it? But it really doesn’t have to!
I have been living on the Costa del Sol twice since 2007, so this place really has a special meaning to me. That’s why I’m doing my best to prove that the Costa del Sol of Spain has so much more to offer than crowded beaches and drunken tourists. Of course you spend your holiday as you like, but in case beach parties don’t appeal to you, I have many interesting tips for you how to spend your days instead! One of them is hiking in Sierra Blanca, the mountain that is decorating the landscapes of Marbella area.
Some time ago I was writing about an amazing hike in Sierra Blanca that I did with my friends when living in Spain a couple years back. That ‘little Sunday walk’ ended on top of La Concha, one of the highest peak of Sierra Blanca. On the above mentioned post I promised to show some pictures from the second hike we did a week after, so here we go.
The second route we took in Sierra Blanca was called Istán-Marbella. This route was quite an easy task compared to the first hike to Pico de la Concha, so I could recommend it even for a first time hiker or families with kids. Nevertheless the views along this route are at least as beautiful as on the first hike.
I hope you enjoy the views as much as I did!
What kind of traveller are you? Do you rather stay lazy on the beach, even if it’s crowded, or are you longing for long hikes up in the mountains?
